Essential Duties:Perform a multi-disciplined range of technical system and application activitiesProvide a friendly and professional point of contact for customersPerform independent troubleshooting of complex incidentsDeliver prompt and professional service and response and timely resolution to requests for servicesInstall, configure, and maintain multiplatform systems hardware, software, and componentsAdminister Windows and/or Linux systems in the operations, engineering, analysis, and test environmentsMaintain Windows systems comprised of servers, workstations, and thin clientsAdminister installation of software, hardware, file system management, backups, process control, user administration, and device managementResolve a wide variety of complex system failures, troubleshooting software, hardware, and network problemsInstall, configure, and maintain Microsoft Active Directory domainsPerform system and user account maintenanceTest and assess security configuration of Windows and Linux serversMonitor, evaluate, and optimize system performanceAnalyze, test, implement security patches, and systems hardeningDocument maintenance & ticketing actions Develop and promote standard operating procedures and conduct routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelinesIf required, assist in IT security incident response and documentationParticipate in internal & external security audits/inspections
Required Skills:Minimum 1 year of directly related experience in systems administration, network administration, or cyber securityDemonstrated experience working independently & in a team environmentExperience in platform-specific systems administration (Windows or Linux)An understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing)Experience with system monitoring & alerting tools (e.g., Nagios) is preferredSome experience with Risk Management Framework and working within an accredited system is preferredAn understanding of VMware vSphere virtual environments is preferredAn understanding of multiplatform system hardening (e.g., DISA STIG, SCAP) is preferredSome experience with scripting for task automation (e.g., PowerShell, Batch, BASH) is preferredSome knowledge of cyber security technology and trends (e.g., Tenable, McAfee, Splunk) is preferredExperience in multiplatform systems administration (Windows and Linux) is desiredWindows Server 2016/2019/2022 configuration, management, and troubleshooting is preferredAn understanding of Group Policy management is preferredSome experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (8, 9) is preferredSome experience with High Performance Computing is preferred
Required Education:High School diploma/GED with 1+ years of experience in a System Administration roleDoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CISSP) within 6 months of hire
Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Special Requirements:This position is 100% on-site. Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, and in some cases, with little to no advance notice. This job will also require up to 15% travel.This position requires that the applicant selected be a U.S. citizen. The applicant must also be willing to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph.This position requires that the applicant obtain a DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (or higher) certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CISSP) within 6 months of hire.As part of your role/function on the program, you will be granted privileged user access, which is subject to greater scrutiny as a direct result of the significant responsibilities. Please be aware that because of these critical duties, you will be subject to additional IT system monitoring and supervisory evaluation to ensure continuous adherence to Privileged User processes and procedures. Privileged Users are subject to a zero-tolerance policy for security violations.
Compensation:The base salary range for this full-time position $76,530 - $93,320 + bonus + benefits.Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
