Senior Defense Technologist – Electronic Warfare

The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking energetic and experienced Senior Defense Technologist - Electronic Warfare with backgrounds in supporting the Government in the planning and execution of large technology programs. Specifically, we are seeking staff with backgrounds in space, land, air, and naval surface warfare, electronic warfare, tactical intelligence, special operations, and wargaming. Successful applicants for these contingent positions will support the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the National Capital Region. This position supporting the DoD’s Assault Breaker II (ABII) program requires a candidate with experience bolstering the development and implementation of advanced electronic warfare technologies and electronic attack systems.

Required Qualifications:

• MS in physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
• 6-8 years of relevant experience
• Current DoD TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility

• Experience supporting a warfare specialty including planning, developing, and executing technical projects of a research & development nature, concerned with unique or controversial problems
• Demonstrated skill in conceiving, planning, and conducting research studies combining operational expertise with novel technology approaches and sophisticated research techniques to assess military effectiveness and engineering viability
• Demonstrated experience in the use of advanced techniques, theories, precepts, and practices in technological programs, preferably one that has transitioned to operational use or a program

Desired Qualifications:

• 15+ years of relevant experience
• PhD in physics, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
• Experience supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense and/or DARPA
• Experience with the Assault Breaker program
• Experience, background, and knowledge of program transition efforts
• Joint/Combatant Commands (COCOM) staff experience

This position is contingent upon award of a contract (one base year + four option years) expected in October 2024 supporting the Department of Defense.
