Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for a Supervisor, Cyber Security Operations to join our team. This position reports to the Director, Cyber Security in the Information Services Unit (ISU), part of Pembina’s Corporate Services Division.

The Supervisor, Cyber Security Operations will be responsible for identifying, preventing, detecting and responding to potential Cyber Security incidents and threats involving Information System (IS) and Operational Technology (OT) assets. The successful candidate will lead a team of employees, contractors, and services to assess and respond to Enterprise Cyber Security threats within the Pembina environment and recommend, implement and continuously improve technology and processes to mitigate risks to align with business needs, regulatory requirements and industry recognized practices.
 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Lead and manage internal and external teams to ensure SLA’s, risks, and efficiencies are being met;
  • Proactive Threat Management: 
    • Proactive in identifying potential threats and implementing strategies to mitigate them. This includes staying updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and threats, and ensuring the team is well-equipped to handle them;
  • Incident Response Leadership: 
    • Effectively manage the situation. This includes coordinating the response efforts, making critical decisions under pressure, and communicating effectively with both the team and stakeholders;
  • Recommend and implement Cyber Security practices and controls for Pembina’s systems, networks, applications and operational technology based on business needs, regulatory requirements and industry practices;
  • Support and maintain the existing Cyber Security platforms to ensure uninterrupted operations;
  • Manage cyber security-related projects and initiatives;
  • Help position the Cyber Security department as a trusted advisory service for all electronic information, IS and OT security matters;
  • Assist with monthly Cyber Operations budget cycles;
  • Lead team meetings and one on ones to support individual and team goals and career aspirations; and
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

  • Degree, Diploma or Technical Certificate in Computer Science or a related discipline;
  • Strong knowledge of cyber security frameworks, technologies, and best practices;
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Relevant hands on experience in an information security role;
  • Security related certifications will be considered an asset;
  • Experience with Cloud security will be considered a very strong asset;
  • Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, network security and communication methodologies;
  • Ability to solve complex technical problems quickly and completely;
  • Strong desire and aptitude for learning new technologies with minimal formal training;
  • Ability to handle high-stress situations such as a cyber incident response;
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and creative thinking skills; and
  • Ability to function within a fast-paced team environment.

 

Pembina’s Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

 

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
