Insider Threat Analyst – Threat Hunting Specialist – B. Young

TIAA has an opportunity for an Insider Threat Analyst role. This role is responsible for identifying and assessing potential threats to an organization from within, such as employees, business partners, or third-party vendors. This role will use multiple tools and skills to remediate known issues, make recommendations to improve insider security, and work to advance the maturity of the Insider Threat program at the company.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Threat analysis: collect and assess threats, identify patterns and trends, and uncover policy violations.
• Risk assessment: evaluate the risk posed by the trusted insiders.
• Data collection: Oversight of data collection efforts and manage and develop data analytic tools.
• Collaboration: Work with other organizations and agencies, including law enforcement, other organizations.
• Reporting: Prepare and present analysis to sr. level stakeholders, often in the form of briefings and reports.
• Incident response: follow pre-define actions to investigate security incidents and escalate to other support groups.
• Program development: work on multiple efforts around maturing the Insider Threat program.
• Automation: automate data collection, reporting, metrics, and tasks related to the Insider Threat program

Educational Requirements

• University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

• 2+ Years Required; 3+ Years Preferred

Qualifications:

Required:

• Minimum of 2+ years of Cybersecurity, Threat Analysis experience in the following disciplines: Cybersecurity techniques and Network Analysis, Insider Threat Analysis software, TCP/IP fundamentals, Windows Operating Systems and supporting Office applications, real-world incident management and incident response.

Preferred:

• Possess Scripting and automation skills.
• Experience in working in a technical IT support role.
• Experience using at least one: SIEM, endpoint monitoring, data loss prevention.

• Experience formulating and analyzing data reports.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work in a matrix team environment.
• Ability to take initiative.
• Well organized and able to multi-task.
• Technical background and interest.
• Understanding and commitment to the confidential and classified nature of working in Insider Threat.

Anticipated Posting End Date:

Base Pay Range: $70,100/yr. - $101,700/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
