Manual / Functional Tester

IntelliBridge is looking for a hands-on Manual/Functional Tester to join our growing team!

The role operates in a SAFe based Agile environment and requires an understanding of the full software lifecycle, including DevSecOps implementations, Software Development, System Integration, and Cyber Security.

The applicant must be knowledgeable and experienced as a Manual Tester for testing web-based and desktop applications, software engineering practices, quality assurance standards, interpretation of product requirements, test plan development, test case development, testing of software functionality, and usability. Experience with performance and load testing is required.  Working knowledge of automation is highly desirable.  Candidates will require excellent critical thinking skills, along with the ability to use their testing experience to make sound, common sense judgment calls during the testing process.

Responsibilities:

• Scripting and running P&L tests using LoadRunner Enterprise with the ability to analyze performance issues using available monitoring tools such as AppDynamics and WhatsUp Gold.
• Manual testing of software functionality and regression
• Ability to write test automation spec files for hand off to test automation engineers
• Test plan and test case development using Jira
• Bug management and error tracking using Jira
• Test report documentation
• Coordination and prioritization of testing activities and the ability to work with multiple scrum teams and software projects are also critical for the selected candidate.
• Candidate must have the ability to independently troubleshoot software issues. 

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Experience using P&L test tools such as LoadRunner Enterprise
• Verified experience in: Black box testing, White box testing, boundary testing, negative testing, exploratory testing, functional, and regression testing.
• Working knowledge of test automation such as writing spec files
• Test Plan and Test Case Development based on software engineering documentation (testing based on product requirements)
• Experience with executing functional, usability
• Experience with SQL scripting
• Experience with reporting of test results using tools such as Jira xRay
• Experience with commercial bug management systems
• Demonstrated Documentation and Reporting experience
• Experience testing in an Agile development environment
• Excellent analytical and problem determination skills
• Basic understanding of program interfaces, services, databases, messaging, files systems, and other program objects.
• Will be subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust.

Desired Skills:

• Document management system experience
• Selenium using Java
• Cross-browser DHTML web design, and testing
• Experience with the compliancy requirements of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act for web applications design.
• Experience with xRay for Jira.
• Experience with source control management software, such as Git/TortoiseSVN/Subversion
• Working background in GIS technologies such as ESRI including ArcSDE, ArcIMS, ArcGIS
• Scripting Proficiency (i.e., JavaScript, Cygwin, Dos, Bash, Perl, Python, and/or VBscript)

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, similar discipline, or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years of structured software quality assurance engineering experience is required.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with creation of test plans, development and execution of test cases and reporting and dissemination of test results is a must.
• 3+ years of writing P&L scripts
• 1+ year of test automation
