What We Are Looking For

Reporting to the Dean of the School of Engineering and Computer Science at Baylor, this position collaborates extensively across Baylor University, the Greater Waco Region, Texas, and nationally to develop, launch and execute a series of programs, initiatives, and trainings to build digital skills, coding skills, and technical certifications inside Baylor and across Central Texas. We seek a dynamic and visionary leader to advance the collaborative’s strategic objectives in cybersecurity education, research, and community engagement.

About CTCR

The Central Texas Cyber Hub (CTCH) is a community collaborative in Waco, Texas involving Baylor University, McClennan Community College, and Texas State Technical College. Its mission is to establish Central Texas as the leading center of excellence in cybersecurity, addressing cyber workforce needs through non-degree training, stackable skills and advanced degrees for industry and government while facilitating world class cyber research.

A Master’s Degree and 10+ years of demonstrated leadership experience in software, technology, government, or related industry field is required. A Master’s Degree in business, computer science, or comparable STEM field is preferred. 

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and provide educational and professional development programs for r K-12, community college, undergraduate, graduate students, and continuing professionals to establish Central Texas as a cybersecurity workforce pipeline
  • Expand academic partnerships with CompTIA and EC-Council, and develop customized training programs to meet the growing cybersecurity workforce needs
  • Promote and expand Baylor’s undergraduate and graduate degree programs related to cybersecurity, and MCC’s associate’s degree program in cybersecurity
  • Foster a collaborative environment for interdisciplinary research across campus and industry to address technical, workforce, and national cybersecurity challenges
  • Secure external funding through grants and contracts to support applied research initiatives
  • Provide trusted analysis and consulting services to its clients. These services could include cyber risk analysis, cyber gap analysis, design analysis, software/system testing, research & developmental guidance, and policy guidance
  • Provide best practice evaluations to clients. These reviews could include cyber risk analysis, cyber gap analysis, design analysis, software/system testing, research & developmental guidance, and policy guidance
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
  • Ability to comply with University policies
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance
