Hatch is seeking a Cyber Security Co-op for an internship starting January 2025. Reporting to Cyber Security Americas Lead you will support offices globally working from our Mississauga office location.

As the successful candidate, you will: 

  • Support operational activities (administration, maintenance, etc.) of critical security systems  

  • Investigate and respond to security alerts (antivirus, vulnerability scanners, SIEM, etc.)  

  • Help carry out formal projects aimed at strengthening corporate information protections  

  • Engage in deployments and integrations of business systems  

  • Investigate technical solutions to address security issues  

  • Effectively prioritize work activities in a multi-tasking environment  

  

You bring to the role: 

  • Enrolled in a college diploma or degree program with relevance in computer science, cyber security. 

  • Fluent in English (both written and oral communication)  

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft network infrastructure technologies (e.g. Active Directory, NPS, ADCS, etc.)  

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft cloud technologies and hosted services (O365, Azure)  

  • General knowledge of networking, network services and protocols  

  • Understanding of industry standards and practices related to security operations, network security, and application security  

  • Understanding of cyber threat risk assessments, penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, and threat modelling would be an asset  

  • Understanding of Automation in power-automate and other platforms 

 

Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes): 

  • Strong understanding of non-technical aspects of information security  

  • Hands-on experience with network system administration and tools  

  • Hands-on experience with deploying and/or operating information security systems  

  • Working knowledge of cyber threat risk assessments, penetration testing, vulnerability analysis, and threat modelling
