Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our interns will have the flexibility of working 2 days remotely, and 3 days in office per week at one of our state-of-the-art offices in Chicago, Kansas City, and New York City. To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place. The Global Cybersecurity Fusion Center team is hiring for Application Security intern:

The Application Security Intern is a position in the Application Security area of the Global Cyber Fusion Center. The selected intern will have to work in day-to-day team activities, with mentoring that will help to develop a better understanding of the Application Security field and learn the skills that are used in this specialized area. The position will also allow the intern to gain working experience working with application security tools, vulnerability testing and secure development best practices.

Your responsibilities and learning objectives will be:

  • Learn the basics of web application security assessments, vulnerability scanning and testing
  • Participate in technical web application security assessments
  • Support efforts to assist application / IT teams with vulnerability remediation
  • Re-test vulnerability remediations to ensure the effectiveness of the fix
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Performs additional duties and assignments as requested
  • Assist incident response team with day-to-day operational activities

The ideal candidate has:

  • The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate student with a strong technology emphasis, majoring in Information Security, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience related to these fields and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place.
  • The candidate must have a passion for learning and enthusiasm for cyber security. This candidate should also have base knowledge of:
  • Basic security concepts and best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of Cyber Security area.
  • Basic knowledge of application security, vulnerability management.
  • Have some scripting knowledge
  • OWASP and other software security best practices
  • Demonstrate interest for one or more areas of Cyber Security

As required by the New York City Human Rights Law, Cboe provides a reasonable range of minimum base salary for roles that may be performed in New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, level of experience, etc. For New York City only, the range of starting base salary for this role is $24 to $36 an hour. Additional incentive compensation and benefits may be available.
