​Title - Cyber Security Engineering Manager

Location - London or Sheffield (Hybrid 2-3 days)

 The Role

This newly created Manager of Cyber Security Engineering position will be responsible for the development and management of the Cyber Security Engineering Team within Royal Mail Group. This includes Security Platforms Operation, Security Tooling delivery across all technology led projects and future development of automation.

As a hands-on leader you will be instrumental in defining the direction, delivery, and continuous enhancement of both proactive and reactive cyber protective technology. Central to this position is the management and development of a robust cyber security engineering strategy, integral to our business operations.

The role is crucial in both maintaining current cyber security standards and strategically shaping future cyber security initiatives. You will be fundamental in ensuring the safety, security, and integrity of Royal Mail's digital infrastructure, thereby playing a key role in the organisation's overall success.

You will manage and oversee comprehensive security solutions, managed both within the team but also via third party suppliers. Partnering with Cyber Architecture leadership, you will develop and a comprehensive Cyber Security Architecture strategy, enhancing overall security infrastructure.

Skills and Experience

• Extensive experience in identifying and mitigating advanced cyber threats.
• Deep understanding of cybersecurity regulations and standards.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and resolving cybersecurity incidents.
• Experience of performing risk identification activities.
• Experience developing and implementation of processes, policies, and standards, aiming for a more agile, responsive, and secure operational framework.
• Confident communicate complex security concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Experience managing third party suppliers.
• People management, ideally within Cyber Engineering.
• Project Management of small to medium sized projects.
