The Opportunity

We are expanding our presence in Calgary, AB and are looking for aTRAC2 Analyst. Reporting to the Manager, TRAC2, this position will support all Business Units and projects across TC Energy as it relates to the Physical Security Program. This role and team are critical to purposefully delivering a security program which includes leading the day-to-day monitoring and response to a diverse set of physical security systems.

The successful candidate will monitor and respond to physical security alarms in support of TC Energy operations.  You will work collaboratively with a team of Analysts within the security operations center to ensure procedures are in place to protect the safety of personnel, facilities and projects. 

 What you’ll do

  • Work a 24/7 shift rotation, including evenings, weekends and holidays in a Control Room environment
  • Monitor enterprise-wide physical security systems (to include access control, intrusion alarms, video surveillance, travel, and social media monitoring tools) and resolve accordingly
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and act as a single point of contact for TC Energy personnel regarding security related inquiries in a calm and professional manner
  • Document and investigate incidents including preparing, researching, and reviewing daily shift reports
  • Manage, triage and escalate technical issues related to physical security assets or resolve issues effectively and efficiently 
  • Adhere to the incident management process and support the development of response procedures and documentation
  • May be required to work additional shifts or provide additional support at short notice during major incidents or emergencies
  • Support to Security system administrators and other Cross-Business Subject Matter Experts as required. 
  • Work in a high-performance team environment
  • Attend After Action Review sessions, (AARs), and provide direct and to the point opinion  

Minimum qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalency (GED)
  • Demonstrated computer skills, able to learn and navigate new software programs easily
  • Knowledge of emergency management systems
  • Able to perform during high-stress events remaining calm and collected.  
  • Easy going with an ability to demonstrate a service attitude 
  • Consideration will be given to individuals with other combinations of educational and technical experience

Preferred qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field/discipline
  • 4 years’ experience in security operations, emergency dispatch center operations or a related corporate security role
  • Security Industry certification or an equivalent emergency management / dispatch designation (or desire to obtain)
  • Working knowledge of applicable standards, guidelines and industry best practices relating to security and TC business issues
  • Proven experience with a diverse array of physical security technologies and platforms (video surveillance, access control, intrusion alarms, dispatch, incident management, travel security)
  • Previous experience working in an 24/7 operations center, control room or 911 dispatch center
  • Ability to travel throughout Canada and the US
  • French or Spanish language skills would be an asset

Additional role requirements

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract for review
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment background check including drug and alcohol testing
