We are seeking an experienced Sr. Director of Cloud Security to lead and drive our cloud security strategy, architecture, and operations. This role will oversee the security posture of both public and private cloud environments, ensuring that cutting-edge security measures are in place to protect the company’s data and applications. As a key leader, you will collaborate across departments to guide security policies and ensure compliance with the best practices of the cloud security industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the cloud security strategy across both public and private cloud infrastructures.
  • Manage and guide a high-performance team of security engineers and architects, providing direction on complex security issues and maintaining a focus on scalability and reliability.
  • Oversee the design, development, and execution of secure cloud-native applications and solutions.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to define security policies, standards, and best practices, ensuring compliance across all teams.
  • Stay ahead of emerging cloud security trends and technologies to proactively mitigate risks and improve security frameworks.
  • Work closely with product, software engineering, and operations teams to embed security within the product life cycle.
  • Perform risk assessments, threat modeling, and cloud infrastructure audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and ensure robust cloud security systems.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and certifications are maintained, such as SOC2, GDPR, or any other cloud-related compliance requirements.
  • Manage the development and deployment of cloud security tools, ensuring proper integration with internal systems.
  • Lead incident response efforts related to cloud security breaches and vulnerabilities, implementing corrective actions and process improvements. 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 15+ years of professional experience, with 10+ years in leadership and management roles in cloud security or related areas.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with public and private cloud technologies, including but not limited to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles and methodologies, including encryption, IAM, network security, and data privacy.
  • Strong background in software design and architecture with a focus on secure development practices.
  • Proven programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in managing cross-functional teams, budgets, and cloud security projects at scale.
  • Ability to operate strategically, while maintaining a hands-on approach when needed. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cloud compliance frameworks such as SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA.
  • Relevant industry certifications (CISSP, CCSP, CISM, etc.).

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $190,000-$255,000. Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time as well as a comprehensive leave program.

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company’s discretion.
