Intern, SOC Analyst

This position is for 2025 intake.

Responsibilities:

1.     Assist in the delivery of various cybersecurity projects and operational tasks within the SOC.

2.     Aid in the development and refinement of standard operating procedures, processes and playbooks.

3.     Support the creation of performance metrics to benchmark analyst performance and identify areas for improvement.

4.     Help develop training content, including assessment questions, to measure analyst performance effectively.

5.     Contribute to the formulation of comprehensive cybersecurity training plans aimed at enhancing SOC operations across multiple domains such as alert triage, threat hunting, incident response, cyber forensics, network defences, cloud security and threat intelligence.

6.     Assist in the preparation of materials for pre-sales and marketing events to effectively communicate our capabilities and solutions
 

Requirements:

1.     Currently pursuing, or possesses a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or a related field from a recognized institution.

2.     Basic, yet sound knowledge of incident handling and response, data loss prevention

3.     Basic, yet sound knowledge of network protocols and network security.

4.     Basic, yet sound technical understanding of operating systems, network architecture and design.

5.     Keen and positive attitude towards learning.

6.     Proven ability to plan and prioritize work, both independently and within a project team context.

7.     Effective teamwork and individual contribution skills.

8.     Excellent writing and communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical details and business concepts.

9.     Results-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to achieving target outcomes.

10.  Possession of professional informational security certifications advantageous but not mandatory.
