The Position

The existing product portfolio includes decision support systems, data management solutions, and workflow solutions. In this context, Roche has built a global team that builds, secures, and operates infrastructure platforms (cloud and on-prem) for its digital products. This team is working with a high freedom to operate in a self-organized setup and is responsible for tackling the cybersecurity, compliance, and infrastructure challenges of the healthcare industry while enabling high-velocity product development. 


The Opportunity:

As a DevSecOps Intern, you will work closely with the Connectivity product team within Roche’s Diagnostic Product IT Center of Enablement. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of DevSecOps, focusing on the integration of security practices into the DevOps process. You will assist in automating routine tasks, improving system reliability, and supporting security operations.

  • Assist in the evaluation, selection, and configuration of connectivity and security infrastructure systems.

  • Support the integration and monitoring of information security controls.

  • Participate in automation using industry-standard tools Tines and languages like Python, Golang etc.


Who you are:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program or equivalent experience in Computer Science, System's Engineering, Cyber Security or a related field.

  • Basic understanding of DevOps and security concepts.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies. Centricity around cloud technologies including but not limited to AWS and Cloudflare.

Preferred:

  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or Golang is desirable.

  • Experience with web application firewalling is desirable.

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and any Web application firewall(Cloudflare) is a plus.

Additional Information

  • This position is a 12-month work term (full-time) and is expected to begin in January 2025.

  • The position is located in Mississauga, Canada. Our team follows a hybrid work structure (minimum 2 days in the office).

  • This internship is designed to provide practical experience and mentorship, preparing you for a future career in DevSecOps and cybersecurity within any industry.
