Job Summary:

As a Security Engineer at webAI, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions that protect our systems, networks, and data in a hybrid cloud/edge environment. Your primary focus will be on defensive security measures, utilizing cutting-edge tools and technologies to detect, prevent, and respond to security incidents. While knowledge of offensive security tactics, such as hacking and penetration testing, is beneficial, your role will primarily emphasize protective actions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Security Solutions: Develop and deploy security measures to protect network infrastructures, systems, and applications against various threats.
  • Monitor and Analyze Security Alerts: Utilize security tools and software to monitor, detect, and analyze security threats and incidents in real time.
  • Incident Response: Lead and coordinate incident response efforts to mitigate and resolve security breaches or threats.
  • Security Assessments: Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and vulnerability scans to identify potential weaknesses and recommend corrective actions.
  • Threat Intelligence: Stay informed about the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and trends, and implement proactive measures to address them.
  • Collaborate with IT and Development Teams: Work closely with other departments to ensure security is integrated into all stages of system and software development.
  • Develop and Maintain Security Policies: Create and update security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Security Awareness Training: Assist in the development and delivery of security awareness training programs for employees to promote a security-conscious culture.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a security engineering role with a focus on defensive security.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and anti-malware solutions.
    • Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
    • Strong understanding of network security principles, encryption methods, and authentication protocols.
    • Familiarity with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and container security.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or GIAC are preferred but not required.
  • Preferred Skills: Knowledge of offensive security techniques, including hacking and penetration testing, is a plus but not mandatory.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
