Job Description:

Director - Cyber Security

Job location – Bangalore

The Director for CyberOps will protect the bank by providing timely response to cyber security threats, incidents, and requests for investigations using industry leading tools and practices.

This leader will focus on Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) tools to create alert content, data enrichment, playbooks, runbooks, and/or process improvements to streamline investigations and provide accurate and consistent documentation and response to security events.

The leader will also own whole of Security Engineering, Network Security, Application Security, Cloud Security, Vulnerability Management etc

About the Job-

The Director of Cyber Security will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a strategic, comprehensive enterprise cybersecurity and IT risk management program.

The Director, Cyber Security will provide the vision and leadership necessary to manage the risk to the organization and will ensure business alignment, effective governance, system and product availability, integrity, and confidentiality. This position reports to Chief Information Officer in India (CISO).

This position will manage multiple verticals: SOC, Engineering, Network Security, Application Security, Vulnerability Management , Cloud Security etc.

Once here you will -

·TEAM PLAYER – Act as a team player supporting peers, and department management.  

·Strategic thinker, leader in technical as well as people management

·Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the protection of the organization’s data, systems, and networks

·Ensuring that the organization’s data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.

·Evaluating the organization’s security needs and establish best practices and standards accordingly

·Direct and own team which are involved in designing, implementing, maintaining, overseeing, and upgrading all security measures needed to protect organizations’ data, systems, and networks

·Direct and own team which are involved in responding to all security breaches to the network and associated systems.

·Direct and own team which are involved in taking appropriate security measures to ensure that the organization’s infrastructure and existing data are kept safe.

·Direct and own team which analyse and correlate information security events to identify appropriate event handling actions.

·Assess operational and implementation costs and evaluate them against the potential business impact if the policies and controls are not implemented.

·Assess the effectiveness of the measures against security risk management plan.

·Develop IT security policy and operational procedures based on information collected.

·Develop a documented action plan containing policies, practices and procedures that mitigate the identified risks.

·Document information related to IT security attacks, threats, risks and controls.

·Establish review procedures based on organisation's security risk management plan.

·Evaluate effectiveness of current incident response plan against industry good practices.

·Evaluate response plans periodically to ensure relevance.

·Identify gaps to manage/close threats and risks that are relevant to organisation's operations and systems.

·Monitor the effectiveness of action plans in addressing information risks.

·Obtain corporate management's endorsement of security policies, standards and procedures by articulating cost and benefits.

·Perform comparative analysis of security service performance level parameters against security information sources.

·Prepare information security performance report based on results from analysis and correlation of information security events.

·Overall rate and categorize potential security incidents.

·Recommend suitable enhancements to improve information security performance.

·Review business and security environment to identify existing requirements.

·Review security policies, standards and procedures by considering the threats identified and other information collected.

·Test incident response plans periodically to ensure response times and executed procedures are acceptable.

  • Demonstrate clear written and verbal communication

  • Work well independently without in-person supervision

  • Collaborate with leaders/team members across separate geographic locations

  • Work well under pressure of cybersecurity incidents/regulators

  • Build relationships with individuals across the organization

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in a technical field (cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, computer engineering, etc. ) or commensurate  experience in a technical job role
3 or more years’ experience working in a cyber security role

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.

  • Minimum 16 years’ experience in Security Industry

  • Minimum 12 years management experience in cybersecurity

  • Master's degree in a cybersecurity or technical field (cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, computer engineering, physics, etc. )

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Associate

  • Experience in the banking or financial industry
