Cybersecurity Sr.Associate

What success looks like in this role:

Job Summary :

Collaborate with Cyber security Analyst and Sr Analyst within the Team

As a 24/7  team, Security Associate will work in shifts which include nights and weekends.

You will monitor networks and systems, detect security threats ('events'), analyze and assess alarms, and report on threats, intrusion attempts and false alarms, either resolving them or escalating them, depending on the severity

The role is a key part of our SOC team, involving daily interaction with multiple security teams and business stake holders

You will be successful in this role if you have:

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Security, Networking, Technology and minimum of 1- 3  years' related Networking or Security experience or the equivalent

Responsible for 24/7 monitor, triage, analyzing security events and alerts

Monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorized or illegal activity.

Contribute to reducing false positives.

Identify whether a real or attempted breach occurred, look for lingering security flaws or malware left behind.

Flexibility and willingness to work on different and multiple technologies.

Knowledge Vulnerabilities Management tools

Ability to effectively prioritize, organize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment 

Familiarity with core concepts of security incident response, e.g., the typical phases of response, vulnerabilities vs threats vs actors, Indicators of Compromise (IoCs), etc

Strong technical understanding of network fundamentals and common Internet protocols, specifically DNS, HTTP, HTTPS / TLS, and SMTP.

Technical training and certifications in Computer Security such as (CompTIA Security+ , Network+, Qualys Certified, or ECIH..) are added advantage
