PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Director of Security Operations is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the Security Department to maximize the safety of employees and guests enabling the highest guest and employee engagement goals. They will provide security direction for major events, special projects, security risks and threat analysis for their assigned MGM Resorts International property or venue. In addition, this role will focus on positively impacting property or venue wide profitability with strong leadership and the ability to influence, make sound judgments, and hold superior interpersonal decision making and problem-solving skills.

  • Directs the day-to-day security operations to include staffing, training, event management, incident response, and administration.
  • Evaluate ongoing security operations training to include standard operating procedures, preliminary investigations, emergency procedures, management, fire and life safety training, and guest service, implementing changes to procedures and policies to close service and operational gaps.
  • Ensure compliance with MGMRI policies, federal, state, and local laws, and effectively communicate policy and procedure changes to property and security operations to maintain compliance.
  • Ensure the property or venue, and other areas of responsibility are patrolled consistently including managing a fleet of resources, overseeing the property security operations programs such as the Lost and Found program, and monitor all areas of the property to consistently ensure preventative measures are enforced.
  • Assists with the COS with critical threat identification, intelligence gathering and analysis at a property level, monitoring incidents and accessing information to determine what impact those incidents may have on the company, employees, customers, and facilities.
  • Build and develop highly effective teams through recruiting, training/certification programs, coaching, performance reviews and professional development. Identify and implement security industry personnel best practices, methods, and equipment to meet and/ or exceed performance requirements and standards.
  • Strategies with key internal stakeholders in cross-functional CoEs to develop both short-term and long-term solutions to create unique guests experiences.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field plus four years of management experience in Security, Or Seven (7) years of experience in management of Security or a related field.
