We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our cyber security practice in either Auckland or Wellington. Our security practice provides specialist guidance, services, and education in cyber, information and physical security both in NZ and Australia.

Our practice specialises in six core areas, each designed to enhance our clients cybersecurity posture and resilience. Our services range from advisory and assurance to technical consulting, offering comprehensive coverage for all our client cybersecurity needs.

In this role you will be responsible for being the subject matter expert for our internal systems used across all our FCSS clients within NZ and Australia. Primary you will be working with internal stakeholders to ensure our systems and tools used in the delivery of technology solutions to Fujitsu and its clients are monitored and managed to the highest degree.

This role will be expected to become proficient with Fujitsu Cyber Security Services (FCSS) technologies and processes. The primary outcome for this role will be implementation, support and improvement of Fujitsu technologies and be respected for being the subject matter expert in your domain.

To be successful in this role we are looking for:

  • Linux system engineering/automation; Networking administration/engineering using FortiNet/Dell/Cisco network appliances (switches, routers, etc.);
  • Storage administration using Dell/EMC/Synology/IBM NAS and SAN.
  • Experience setting up, configuring, managing and modernizing physical and virtual infrastructure,
  • Knowledge of VMware ESXi/vSphere or similar virtualization technologies,
  • Experience with at least one public cloud service provider - AWS/Azure/Catalyst,
  • Managing backups and restores preferably with Veeam,
  • Experience securing physical and virtual infrastructure:
  • Experience in a similar systems engineer role with a focus on Networking / Storage experience
  • Experience with elastic / Elk Stack would be preferred
  • Vulnerability management (e.g. CIS benchmarks, OVAL, SCAP); Real-time monitoring and alerting; Edge and platform security (VPNs, firewalls, reverse proxy, load balancing); Maintaining policies, processes and procedures: Automating patch and configuration management and integrating with external systems via APIs.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Support for deployed technologies within customer environments
  • Threat intelligence integration into managed services
  • Mentoring and development of staff in relation to technologies
  • Experience working in a team environment and collaborating with other professionals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in in driving continuous improvement using automation and innovation.
  • A bachelors degree or diploma in Cyber Security/ Information Security with bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
