The Legal team is responsible for managing the legal affairs of the company, including providing legal counsel across the organization, handling disputes, and creating and enforcing intellectual property.

Let's talk about the Role

We seek an Associate Engineering Specialist to collaborate closely with the Privacy team and key business stakeholders to support effective data protection and privacy practices embedded in all ResMed products. You will report to the Head of Privacy Technology. 

Let's talk about the Responsibilities

  • Assist in ensuring that advanced technologies and Privacy by Design principles are aligned from the beginning of the development process.

  • Identify privacy risks during product or software development and propose actionable solutions based on industry best practices for data privacy.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to analyze, design, and program software enhancements for new data streams.

  • Support privacy projects and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements across regions.

  • Work closely with the GDP team to identify and support the implementation of privacy-enhancing technology.

  • Work closely with the Synergy team to maintain and enhance the OneTrust technical module.

  • Respond to privacy emergencies and establish collaboration processes to address them.

  • Develop subject matter expertise and advise other privacy experts on anonymization, de-identification, cookie management, and consent management.

  • Follow standards, procedures, and guidelines for applying privacy technologies to data lifecycles.

Required Skills

  • 1+ years of experience in privacy or data protection or a degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • Good understanding of SDLC & having experience working on any programming language

  • Good understanding of cookies

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CIPT Certified

  • Interest in contributing to the security or privacy community (public research, blogging, presentations, etc.)
