Job Summary
The Cybersecurity Engineer I is responsible for executing work orders, support tickets, and project tasks to meet security and compliance obligations for customer facilities. Focusing on OT systems within our Managed Security Services (MSS) operations, this role involves evidence collection, security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and event monitoring in line with cybersecurity best practices.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Monitor OT networks for security threats and vulnerabilities, assisting in incident responses.
  • Execute work orders, including user provisioning, system upgrades, and configuration management.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot multi-user systems, coordinating with vendors and operational personnel.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with internal and external parties, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Administer complex computing environments within power generation sectors.
  • Contribute to the review and evaluation of vendor products, services, and customer policies.
  • Conduct security risk evaluations and vulnerability assessments.
  • Handle incident response and ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to align security practices.
  • Develop, document, and refine cybersecurity processes and procedures.
  • Manage and monitor security configurations, ensuring systems are updated and secure.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for emergency response.


Qualifications:
  • Technical degree or a minimum of 3 years of relevant OT professional experience.
  • Experience in NERC CIP-regulated environments and familiarity with compliance programs such as PCI-DSS, NIST, ISO-27001.
  • Proven track record in IT or OT help desk support, IT infrastructure support, network support, and cybersecurity monitoring.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server support, NGFW maintenance, administration, and Splunk usage.
  • Experience in the power generation sector, particularly with renewable energy, is advantageous.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to address cybersecurity issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining professionalism in high-pressure situations.
  • Detailed knowledge of cybersecurity practices and tools to ensure robust security measures.
