We are seeking a skilled Sr. Security Engineer in the Kansas City metro to join our team! This role will focus on designing and implementing security solutions to protect against cyber threats. In this position, you will be responsible for securing cloud platforms, conducting risk assessments and audits, serve as an expert in security tools, developing policies, ensuring compliance, and leading security incident response efforts. A day in the life!​

You will be responsible for the following:​

  • Plan and design security solutions and capabilities that enable the organization to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from cyber threats and vulnerabilities
  • Design action plans for policy creation and governance, system hardening, and monitoring
  • Serve as subject matter expert in one or more of security information and event management (SEIM), data loss prevention (DLP), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), web application firewalls (WAF), Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) and other tools
  • Partner with stakeholders to encourage the adoption of secure software designs and best practices
  • Design and implement security controls on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Design and execute vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, security audits, and security risk assessments to identify potential security vulnerabilities and assists with remediation
  • Analyze technical requirements, recommend solutions or enhancements, and translate into actionable information for the business
  • Deploy, integrate, and configure software in accordance with WellSky policy and industry standards and provides troubleshooting support
  • Research and provide technical guidance in accordance with industry standards and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Participate and/or lead the security incident response process, including monitoring, tracking, notification, containment, resolution, escalation, and reporting
  • Perform system maintenance activities, including upgrades and patch management
  • Keep abreast of the latest intelligence from law enforcement and other sources of cyber threat information
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Do you have what it takes?​

Required Qualifications:​

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum 4-6 years related work experience

Do you stand above the rest?​

Preferred Qualifications:​

  • Cyber security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CompTIA Security+
  • Experience in healthcare domain
  • Basic understanding of HL7 standards

  • Performing other responsibilities as assigned
