Job Description:

GDIT is seeking a Senior Project Manager to work closely with USPS management on new IT application development. This person will be responsible for project execution, including maintaining Project Plans and managing overall project execution and delivery activities, ensuring the required outcomes with respect to schedules, milestones, and deliverables are met. Manage and oversee activities performed by vendor to satisfy all program requirements.

HOW A SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Supervise all aspects of project activity including the performance, cost, and schedule of the project.
  • Formulate and review deliverable items and ensure conformance with all prescribed standards and schedules as set forth in the Statement of Work
  • Manage the day-to-day activities and ensure USPS is well-informed of all progress and issues
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of project performance/status reports
  • Interface with customer project personnel, vendor, and key stakeholders on a continuous basis
  • Manages and is responsible for the successful completion of all tasks in assigned program area including technical work, schedules, milestones, deliverables as well as contractual and administrative tasks activities
  • Directs program activities to meet client and organization work objectives and serves as a liaison with clients to coordinate activities, negotiate tasks, and solve problems 
  • Develops key trusted advisor relationships with customers for which they are the point of contact.
  • Assures quality of products, services, and deliverables, including participating in reviews and milestone events
  • Coordinates and monitors professional services activities, if needed 
  • Monitors all action items to ensure timelines are being met
  • Prepares and provides various briefings, reports, and technical reviews to senior management as requested and milestone events related to project execution.
  • Ensures compliance with relevant government policies and standards, participates in special projects as required, and possesses a technical understanding of DevSecOps
  • ​Provides technical, administrative, and operational management to assigned projects or task(s), participates in the development of technical project plans, proposals, reports, schedules and task order and administrative reporting
  • May perform high level technical services on assigned task(s), conducts planning, and provides recommendations to client on task workload, manages risk tracking process, and attends customer meetings and may serve as client liaison.
  • Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other client staff and stakeholders, coordinates development of deliverables and products, ensures quality assurance of project deliverables, and maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience)

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • Software Development Life Cycle
  • Agile software development

  • Preferred Experience:
    • Cloud experience
    • PMP

Security Clearance Level:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
  • This position has a U.S. residency requirement. The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows: U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions). Non-U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 90 days consecutively in the last 3 years.

The likely salary range for this position is $150,450 - $203,550. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
