Information System Security Officer (ISSO) / Systems Administrator 

Location:    Carlsbad, NM

Employment Class:  Full Time Regular

FLSA Classification:    Non-Exempt/Hourly

Position Summary:

Command Cyber Solutions (a federal government contractor) is seeking a qualified Information System Security Officer (ISSO) / Systems Administrator who will support a Government Technical Services Project for the US DOE TRANSCOM Program. TRANSCOM consists of multiple custom web applications, tools and interfaces and a user help desk that supports users 24-7. This position provides TRANSCOM technical support services directly to the EM CBFO, and DOE sites as needed to aid in the tracking of the transuranic (TRU) waste shipments as well as other radioactive material shipments to meet the DOE mission requirements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Deploy, configure, and manage Microsoft Windows Server virtual and physical machines. 
•    Upgrade legacy systems, maintaining life cycle efforts of Systems Administration. 
•    Administer Active Directory Domain Services, Active Directory Certificate Services, DNS, Group Policy, File/Print Services. 
•    Manage an Office 365 environment. 
•    Manage Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager server. 
•    Perform and monitor System backups. 
•    Deploy, install, and manage physical rack mount servers and blade servers. 
•    Deploy, install, and manage SANS storage arrays. 
•    Create and maintain configuration management documentation for all systems. 
•    Create and maintain job/task desktop procedures. 
•    Tier 2 customer support. 
•    Support for Enterprise Architecture Planning and administration for life cycle efforts of configuration management. 
•    Implement and enforcement of IT Security standards in hardware/software profiles following NIST guidance and security controls. 
•    Support Monthly patch management life cycle. 
•    Other assigned duties assigned by Team lead or Project Manager. 

Education, Certification & Experience Requirements

Education:

•    Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or IT related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience:

•    Minimum seven (7) years related experience in roles such as ISSO or ISSM.

Certifications (one or more required): 

•    Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
•    IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL)
•    Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
•    Red Hat Certified System Administrator
•    CompTIA Server+
•    CompTIA Security+
•    CompTIA A+

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

•    Proficient in MS Office suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and any other software specific to this position.
•    Demonstrated knowledge of:
o    Server administration
o    Operating systems (OS) and applications as they pertain to the network environment.
o    Security operations and concepts in various operating systems.
o    Group policies.
•    Ability to work with sensitive information.
•    Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives with strong organizational, analytical, research, problem-solving and technical skills.
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and collaboration with customers and peer IT administration staff. 
•    Strong communication and collaboration skills verbal and written. 
•    Ability to develop and maintain complex technical documentation. 
•    Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, local laws, regulations and requirements, including but not limited to current DOE Directives (https://energy.gov/em/doe-directive).
•    Effective oral and written communication skills.
•    Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and client personnel. Display a professional customer-service attitude at all times.
•    Adhere to fundamental principles of ethical service pursuant to federal, state and local regulations.

Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands

•    Basic office work environment at government facility location.
•    Position requires shift flexibility to support a 24x7 operation 365 days a yea
•    Occasionally, project requirements may require temporary adjustment of work hours/days.
•    Duties are subject to change based on the needs of the customer.
