Cyber Security Intern 1

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Intern Information Security Business Analyst to join our Cyber Threat Operations team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the security of our organization’s computer systems, networks, and data. In this role, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across various departments to support the security of our information systems and data assets. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of both business operations and cybersecurity practices, enabling them to bridge the gap between technical requirements and business needs effectively.

As an Intern Information Security Business Analyst, you will become a pivotal member of the team supporting the organization’s cyber defense strategy. The Cyber Security team provides an exciting and challenging environment, using best of breed tools and methodologies to protect and strengthen the company’s IT platforms.

Why we need you:

As an Information Security Business Analyst, you will do the following but not limited to:

  • Requirements Gathering: Work closely with business units to understand their information security needs and translate them into actionable requirements.

  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify potential security threats and develop mitigation strategies.

  • Business Process Analysis: Analyze current business processes and identify areas where information security measures can be integrated without disrupting workflow.

  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor compliance with internal security policies and external regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and recommend adjustments as necessary.

  • Security Implementation Support: Assist in the implementation of security solutions by providing business context, user requirements, and validation of implemented controls.

  • Incident Response: Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents from a business analyst perspective.

Who we’re looking for:

An experienced IT professional capable of providing expertise on many of the aspects of cyber security.

Your experience & education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on information security.

  • Solid understanding of project management principles and stakeholder engagement.

  • Experience with risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical information for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Your skills:

  • Strong knowledge of security best practices, tools, and techniques.

  • Strong understanding of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, access control, encryption, and anti-virus/malware solutions.

  • Strong ethical values, integrity, and a commitment to confidentiality.

  • Strong analytical and excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal technical & business communication skills (English).

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure.

  • Excellent task management and planning skills for self and others.

  • Great coaching and team-player skills.
