Adtran is looking for an outstanding Software Engineer I to work on its exciting new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products: Mosaic One and Intellifi. Mosaic One is a cloud-based system that aggregates information from many management and orchestration platforms, broadband access, and consumer in-home devices to produce helpful, targeted workflows for our users and AI driven insights that ensure our customers’ success. Intellifi focuses on monitoring and managing the in-home Wi-Fi devices distributed across hundreds of thousands of subscribers all over the world. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and continually improving our integration and delivery pipelines using new technologies and best agile practices, and will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure the product development and release pace meets the needs of our customers. 

The Software Engineer I (junior position) will be a member of an existing DevSecOps team responsible for designing, analyzing requirements, developing, implementing, testing, debugging, and maintaining cloud-based and on-prem hybrid build infrastructure, with all the security aspects of it. Requires ability to perform engineering tasks for a major project or for projects of moderate complexity with limited direction. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Example target projects:  design or assist in the design the Dev-Ops infrastructure, pipelines, processes, monitoring dashboard, fast feedback loops of multiple SaaS products that are the flagships of our portfolio. 

  • Perform or assist in high-level and low-level software design and implementation of new modules and enhancements to existing CI/CD process.  

  • Perform or assist in feasibility studies of needed improvements around testing, scaling, robustness of the deliverable flows.  

  • Document the design including features definition and architecture. 

  • Conduct and participate in design reviews and code reviews. 

  • Plan and perform unit and system level testing of implemented software modules and enhancements. 

  • Help fix system bugs found during all testing phases. 

  • Work with team to deploy and test incremental software releases. 

  • Organize and coordinate development activities within schedule and product constraints. 

  • Other projects and assignments may result and be assigned to accommodate the changing needs of the department and the Company.    

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent education required.  

  • At least 2 years of active experience. 

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools, such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Chef, Puppet, Help, AWS CloudFormation, AWS S3, CDK, Terraform, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog. 

  • Knowledge of source control systems, like Git and associated best practices. 

  • Exposure to containerization technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes. 

  • Basic understanding of infrastructure as code (IAC) tools. 

  • Some experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Bash. 

  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban. 

  • Excellent teamwork abilities. 

  • B2 English proficiency level. 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • AWS experience and knowledge confirmed by the AWS DevOps Certificate. 

  • Hands-on experience with the Life Cycle Management of the SaaS products. 

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes cluster deployment, configuration, and management. 

  • C1 English proficiency level or higher.
