We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Governance and Product Manager to join our team in the Washington, DC metro area.

The Design Governance and Product Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining design standards across the organization as well as managing a newly formed Agile Release Train to cover the critical business processes of the company. This role ensures that all design efforts are consistent, aligned with business objectives, and enhance the overall user experience. As well as provide direction for implementation of critical processes within the Nightwing Enterprise. This ART will be the driving force for all policies, procedures, and documents for the entire company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in design, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

Governance Framework: Implement a comprehensive design governance framework that includes guidelines, standards, and best practices.

Design Consistency: Ensure design consistency across all products and services by overseeing the adherence to design guidelines.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to align design efforts with business goals.

Review and Approval: Lead design review sessions and provide constructive feedback to ensure high-quality design outputs.

Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of design standards, decisions, and processes.

Training and Support: Provide training and support to design teams to ensure understanding and compliance with governance standards.

Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and update the design governance framework to adapt to new challenges and opportunities.

Developing, reviewing, and determining the correct delivery routing of technical communication deliverables including engineering design documentation, operational procedures, plans, action reports, and standard operating procedures

Independently managing timelines of all deliveries across Nightwing Enterprise

Manage newly developed Agile Release Train that will manage the critical business process of the Nightwing corporate

Supporting other Technical Writers in both surge and peer-review work.

Required Skills:

U.S. Citizenship

SAFe certified

Experience with creating and maintaining information system security documentation, processes and workflows

6+ years of technical writing experience developing deliverables including engineering documentation, plans, action reports, and meeting minutes for internal and external audiences.

Expert level knowledge and usage of Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Excel.

Experience developing news articles, monthly newsletters, executive messages, advanced presentations and infographics.

Fluid technical writing and editing skills, including the use of AP Style.

Ability to work under pressure with clients, program managers and subject matter experts in a fast-paced environment

Familiarity with enterprise architectural communications language and subject matter.

Familiarity with JIRA. and the rest of the Atlassian Suite

Well-versed in Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Pro.

Advanced PowerPoint presentations and infographics skills.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in design, with at least 2 years in a leadership or governance role.

Skills:

Strong understanding of design principles and methodologies.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.

Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Attributes:

Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.

Proactive and able to work independently.

Adaptable and open to feedback.

The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
