Position Summary...

What you'll do...

As a Risk Expert within Walmart's InfoSec Risk & Compliance team, you will contribute to key IT General Controls (ITGC) projects with guidance from experienced associates. In this role, you’ll support SOX compliance efforts by assisting with control assessments and documentation, while gaining exposure to a wide array of IT platforms. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a career in IT risk and compliance with the opportunity to learn from seasoned professionals in the field.

What you'll do:

  • Assist with SOX ITGC compliance reviews, working closely with more senior associates to assess controls for new IT implementations and document any identified issues
  • Evaluate IT systems and platforms to ensure they meet compliance standards. Play a supporting role in identifying and remediating control gaps.
  • With guidance, contribute to the ongoing improvement of Walmart’s IT risk environment by participating in project meetings, maintaining up-to-date project information, and collaborating with internal teams and audit partners


What you'll bring:

  • Foundational understanding of SOX compliance and IT controls, along with a willingness to learn and grow within the organization
  • Experience or education in information technology, risk management, or auditing
  • Desire to contribute to ITGC assessments and remediation efforts Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment will be critical to your success
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to seeking guidance and feedback from more experienced team members are also essential
  • IT Audit experience is preferred

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or risk related field and 1 and 1/2 years' experience in information technology or risk related field within the last 5 years OR 3 years' experience in information technology or risk related field within the last 5 years OR a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or risk related field.

Current and emerging technologies (for example, mobile, cloud, federation, network, cryptography, firewalls, security technologies, intrusion detection and/or prevention devices, penetration testing, architecture), Investigations, audits, or assessments, evidence handling, and document collection and retention consistent with judicial best practices, Payment card industry data security (PCI), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), and/or Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance and/or reporting process, Risk frameworks (for example, COBIT, ISO 27005), We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
