The One 23 Group, a Virginia-based Government Contractor, seeks a Lead Senior Security Engineer local to Washington DC Metropolitan area. 

Requirements

We are seeking a Lead Senior Security Engineer who will be responsible for providing technical, managerial, and administrative leadership in the definition, analysis, and implementation of complex systems across an organization. This position involves making strategic recommendations and advising on improvements, optimization, and maintenance of systems in various specialized areas, including information systems architecture, networking, telecommunications, automation, and risk management.

The Lead Senior Security Engineer plays a key role in leading large-scale projects, ensuring that systems are designed and maintained to meet the highest standards of performance and security. The individual will also manage life-cycle management, software development methodologies, and modeling and simulation, while providing technical leadership to engineering teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Systems Analysis & Optimization: Provide leadership in problem definition, analysis, and system requirements development for complex systems in areas such as networking, telecommunications, risk management, and automation.
  • System Improvements: Advise on and recommend organization-wide system improvements and optimization efforts across various specialties, including information systems architecture, communications protocols, and software life-cycle management.
  • Technical Leadership: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex systems while providing      managerial direction to engineering teams.
  • Risk Management & Security: Lead efforts in risk management and electronic analysis, ensuring that systems are secure and meet regulatory requirements.
  • Software Development & Methodologies: Guide software development methodologies and ensure best practices in life-cycle management and modeling and simulation are followed.
  • Telecommunications & Networking: Provide expert advice on telecommunications and networking systems, including the optimization and integration of these systems within the organization.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Manage, mentor, and lead junior engineers and staff to ensure successful delivery of projects and long-term success of the security engineering team.
  • Clearance Requirements: Handle sensitive and classified projects, operating within the guidelines of Top Secret and      Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance levels.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in a relevant field. 
  • Experience: 
    • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the IT field.
    • At least ten (10) years of combined experience directly related to the required area of expertise, including experience in       technical leadership roles.
  • Certifications:
    • REQUIRED – Must possess one of the following:
    • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III certification such as:
      • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
      • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
      • CompTIA Security+
      • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
    • DESIRED – (Not required):
      • Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP)
      • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security

Clearance: 

· Must possess an active TOP SECRET/SCI clearance.
