- Coordinate project administration

- Determine project scope
- Develop follow up service procedures and information pages
- Develop preliminary investigation plan
- Develop special test methods and test equipment
- Ensure code of conduct compliance
- Establish test programs
- Examine samples
- Explain UL procedures and requirements
- Negotiate completion dates and sample requirements
- Notify compliance issues with UL requirements
- Perform file reviews
- Prepare data sheets and instructions
- Prepare project reports
- Propose new or revised UL requirements
- Provide direction as primary designated engineer or designated engineer
- Provide technical assistance on product inspection
- Represent UL at industry functions
- Resolve engineering issues from variation notices
- Review files and manufacturer information
- Schedule and review laboratory technician work
- Serve as project handler of record
- Train office field and laboratory staff
