About the Opportunity 
We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Security Operations Engineer as part of our growing Cybersecurity team. Your role will be responsible for safeguarding Metcash’s information systems and infrastructure by implementing and managing security systems and controls. 
The Security Operations Engineer collaborates daily with IT teams and 3rd party vendors to identify and address vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and ensure the overall resilience of the organization's security posture. 

In this Role 

• Cloud Security Posture - Monitoring and Remediation: Respond to 3rd level cyber security incidents arising from cloud security alerts, staff or MSSP providers. 
• Vulnerability Management: Actively participate in regular security assessments and vulnerability scans on IT and OT resources across the organisation to identify and address security weaknesses. 
• Access and Identity Management: Provide subject matter expertise with security and controls for Azure Active Directory (EntraID) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) to enforce least privilege access.
• Compliance and Governance: Ensure technology and environments comply with industry standards and regulations including SOCI, ASD Essential 8 and NIST CSF.
•  Security Configuration and Hardening: Adherence to security configurations and hardening practices for Azure resources and related landing zone guard rails.
• Threat Intelligence and Analysis: Maintain IOC register and related investigation findings with MSSP vendors. Respond to Phishing and BEC requests and escalations.
• Security Automation: Work with service fulfillment teams and partner vendors to streamline incident response 
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain up to date and comprehensive documentation of security configurations, incidents, and remediation efforts.

You’re Likely a Match If 

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, cyber security, or related field (preferred).
• 7+ years experience in SOC operations or large Security Enterprise Team, notably in an environment with outsourced services.
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, MS Security Operations Analyst (SC-200), MS Identity and Access Admin(SC-300), MS Azure Security Engineer Associate (az-500).
• Experience working in blue team operations and continuous defensive posture management.
• Demonstrable knowledge of ASD Essential 8 security controls and enforcement – patching, MFA, whitelisting, Conditional Access
• Experience in incident response coordination
• Vendor management and SLA oversight experience
• Experience in Logistics/Supermarket/Retail/Wholesale industries or Critical Infrastructure will highly regarded.
