Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 year of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
- 1 year of experience with security access controls.
- Experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working with Google access control systems.
- Experience or knowledge in ICS/SCADA Security or infrastructure.
- Knowledge of security principles.
About the job
Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.
Within Security Engineering, the Enterprise Infrastructure Protection (EIP) organization protects user data by preventing attacks. The team advances the security by building and motivating the creation of trustworthy computing infrastructure.
The Network Infrastructure Security team within EIP ensures that networks and critical infrastructure are safe, reliable, and built on secure foundations.

Responsibilities
- Identify security issues and implement and design security controls, tools, and services to improve security systems and processes.
- Create, assess, and strengthen infrastructure designs, systems, and access policy enforcement points across all levels of the stack.
- Ensure infrastructure is resilient against attacks and abuse.
- Make technical, process, and project contributions to identifying risks, improving security, and enabling scalable management of security controls.
- Write feature requests and influence security improvements in the products to enable secure enterprise use at scale.
