H2 Performance Consulting (H2) is seeking a Engineer, Software III to support the Naval Info Warfare Center Atlantic’s Data Center and Cloud Hosting Services and Enterprise Systems.

 

The Engineer, Software III responsibilities will include:

·        Support systems engineering or systems administration within cloud-based enterprise environments, ensuring seamless operation of interconnected systems.

·        Apply programming concepts and modern software development methodologies (Agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in professional and academic settings.

  • Performs the work necessary to design, develop, document, test, integrate, and modify operating systems and application software for aviation training systems
  • Develops, creates, troubleshoots, and modifies specialized utility programs and applications in support of real-time systems
  • Performs hardware and software development planning in the incorporation of hardware and software modifications into aviation training systems
  • Develops software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users; studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes; investigating problem areas; following the software development lifecycle
  • Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
  • Create automated continuous monitoring of security of environments and uphold configuration and software baseline requirements.
  • provide cybersecurity support for both unclassified and classified enclaves and NIPRNet, NMCI eDMZ architectures, and Cloud Hosted CSPs.
  • ensure Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert Management (IAVM), CTO, STIG compliance
  • maintain security compliance for all applications and software by deploying tools and technologies that enhance automated reporting capabilities that can provide a centralized repository for enterprise-wide compliance audit trails.
  • provide vulnerability assessment scans to the government team leads upon request.
  • evaluate, recommend, integrate and implement innovative and automated continuous monitoring capabilities in support of RMF and Cyber Security compliance and shall develop new code as well as implement changes to existing code bases, as required and directed, to enable continuous monitoring capabilities in support of RMF and Cyber Security requirements.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Clearance: Minimum SECRET clearance
  • Education:  Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems); and shall possess Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification.
  • Required Certifications:
    • At least one (1) of the following: CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), or other certifications relevant to the role and as approved by the COR.
    • Plus: depending on PWS tasking, individual shall be certified as Information Assurance Management (IAM) or Information Assurance Technical (IAT) or Information Assurance System Architect and Engineer (IASAE) Level II or III (position-based).
  • Experience:
    • Ten (10) years with Masters or 14 years with Bachelor’s degree of professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs which may include database maintenance within an application area.
    • Individual shall have experience applying programming concepts in a professional or academic setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional or academic setting.
  • Specific Experience: Three (3) years of cyber security focused experience in support of systems engineering or systems administration within an enterprise hosting environment in the cloud in support of multiple interconnected systems and enterprise managed services. Experience may be achieved simultaneously. Individual shall have notable experience supervising and/or mentoring of lesser experienced personnel.
