This position serves as a Security Analyst for the Department performing complex installations, systems configurations, testing, and implementation of software, hardware, and operating systems. In this role you will conduct and coordinate in-depth studies involving substantial technical research and systems analysis and perform advanced problem diagnostics of complex operating systems and problems. In addition, you will evaluate and resolve problems, monitor connectivity, and utilize software to notify of alerts. This position also serves as a project coordinator for full-range major/complex projects, very large hardware/software deployments and installations across multiple agencies and locations. Essential Functions

  • Under administrative direction, serves a Security Analyst performing professional and advisory functions for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), performing complex installations, systems configurations, testing, and implementation of software, hardware, and operating systems.
  • Conducts and coordinates in-depth studies involving substantial technical research and systems analysis.
  • Performs advanced problem diagnostics of complex operating systems and problems evaluating and resolving problems, monitoring connectivity, and utilizing software to notify of alerts.
  • Serves as project coordinator for full-range major/complex projects, very large hardware/software deployments and installations across multiple agencies and locations.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience in System Services or a related Information Technology field.
     

Specialized Skills

  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience performing complex installations, configurations, and implementations of security software, hardware, and operating systems, with a focus on securing enterprise or governmental IT environments.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience coordinating complex IT security enhancements and maintenance with clients, ensuring alignment with organizational security standards.
  • Requires three (3) years of experience utilizing risk management, network services (routers, firewalls, VPNs), Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory, and McAfee antivirus in IT security operations.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of professional experience performing complex installations, configurations, and implementations of security software, hardware, and operating systems, with a focus on securing enterprise or governmental IT environments.
  • Three (3) years of experience coordinating complex IT security enhancements and maintenance with clients, ensuring alignment with organizational security standards.
  • Three (3) years of experience utilizing risk management, network services (routers, firewalls, VPNs), Microsoft Windows Servers, Active Directory, and McAfee antivirus in IT security operations.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience assessing and evaluating security risks through in-depth analysis of customer requests and ensure that IT security standards and procedures are met.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience conducting technical research and system security analysis, including developing comprehensive IT security analysis reports and implementation plans.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience coordinating and leading large-scale IT security projects, including hardware and software security deployments, with a focus on cross-location implementation and ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of managing and enforcing security policies, configuring security requirements on servers, conducting security diagnostics, and resolving system vulnerabilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of the methods, procedures, and techniques of conducting feasibility studies for system conversions and enhancements.  
  • Ability to coordinate the activities of work associates including planning and recommending training requirements that are necessary for effective performance to achieve desired results.  
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
