We are seeking a Cybersecurity/Process Engineer to support our customer with implementing and maintaining an Information Assurance and Security Program (IASP).  The Engineer will report directly to the Program Manager, and perform activities utilizing Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) best practices to support an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) based IT service management (ITSM) lifecycle. The Engineer will also provide process review and technical writing support in the development of process guides and standard operating procedures.  Additionally, the Engineer will support government leadership with security activities in preparation/response to Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI).

Responsibilities:

  • General process engineering support – Evaluation of problem with a focus on data extraction, integrity, and analysis options

·       Work collaboratively with the project managers, and staff to develop and update system/security policy and standards development, including writing guidelines, standards, procedures and other technical documentation including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Assist AISSOs, Analysts, and Engineers in the delivery of various IASP products and services
  • Perform security control / STIG assessments and evaluation in accordance with applicable NIST, DoD, and USCG guidelines
  • Assist AISSOs in preparation and processing of POA&Ms in DoD eMASS compliance tracking tool
  • Assist IASP Program Manager in maintenance of the Project Risk Register and Service Catalog

·       Assess impacts to the critical path and near-critical activities and report to the project manager

  • Prepare and provide periodic schedule progress reports, trending charts and performance analysis
  • Maintain record of scope changes, trends and variances that potentially affect schedule performance

 Required Skills:

  • Minimum of three years of Cybersecurity experience or related discipline
  • Experience or knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (NIST SP 800-37) and the Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA)
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, and SharePoint is desired
  • Candidate must be highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities
  • Candidate must display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with the System Engineering Life Cycle (SELC)
  • Innovative and forward-thinking mindset
  • Strong Time Management skills

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with STIG Viewer
  • Previous experience in a USCG, DHS, and/or DOD environment
  • Experience extracting customer/stakeholder requirements
  • A sense of humor

 Education and Certification(s):

  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Current active IAT Level II Security Certification in accordance with Department of Defense 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program. IAM Level II desired.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Information Technology field or equivalent work experience
