As part of the Security team for the Grab Cloud platform, one of the largest deployments in the region, your core mission is to safeguard Grab, our consumers, and partners from internal and external threats. We proactively identify, hunt down, and manage threats, continuously enhancing our defenses.

Get to Know the Role:
We are looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to take a lead on the infrastructure security engineering initiatives. You will report into the Engineering Manager and be based onsite in Malaysia. We believe a successful candidate has cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, integration, and development skills, but if you believe you have what it takes then we’d love to hear from you either way. This role is required because we are expanding our regional infrastructure security capabilities. In return, you will get an opportunity to work with a great team working on complex architectures and managing cloud security of one of the largest cloud deployments in the region.

The Critical Tasks You will Perform

• You will develop and deploy public cloud services on AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring high availability and scalability.
• You will design and implement UI components and features using JavaScript, applying your deep knowledge of the language to create efficient front-end solutions.
• You will take ownership of your code by making it readable, maintainable, and well-tested, while adhering to Operational Excellence (OE) standards.
• You will conduct code reviews, providing clear, actionable feedback and responding constructively to feedback from peers.
• You will troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly, ensuring constant communication with the working team and delivering high-quality solutions on time.

Qualifications

What Skills You will Need

• Proficiency in deploying public cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) with at least 2-3 years of experience.
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript, including UI frameworks and components (React.js preferred), with at least 3-4 years of hands-on experience.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, particularly clean architecture and design patterns.
• Expertise in algorithms and data structures, backed by at least 2 years of practice in a professional setting.
• Willingness to work in either a specialized front-end or full-stack role, with the ability to handle backend technologies such as Golang or Python if required, with 1-2 years of experience in backend development as a plus.
