We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer who will help solve complex technical and operational problems in the cybersecurity industry. Candidates will directly support Blackpoint’s cyber security mission, helping to stop cyber-attacks, and protecting Blackpoint’s rapidly growing customer base.  

Summary: The Product Engineering team is seeking an experienced Full Stack Staff Software Engineer who will thrive in a fast-paced, remote environment. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving the development of both front-end and back-end components of our innovative cybersecurity products. This position is ideal for someone who excels in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about developing robust, scalable software solutions that address complex cybersecurity challenges.  

 Who You Are:  

 Blackpoint Cyber is looking for someone who will:  

  • Be responsible for delivering on business-critical outcomes through your product contributions to our cybersecurity platform, defining and building world-class user experiences that delight all of our Blackpoint customers and owning those experiences end-to-end.  

  • Lead and drive projects that span our stack, including endpoint agents written in GO, Node.js services hosted in Kubernetes and a UI written in Typescript and React.  

  • Leverage their deep understanding of design and architecture, along with best practices in design patterns. Your experience in optimizing for performance, scale, and resiliency will help deliver outcomes that withstand the test of time.  

  • Excel as a team player by recognizing the importance of diverse perspectives and managing expectations and needs across numerous cross-functional groups. This includes taking on the role of mentoring other engineers, leading them in complex, multi-person projects.  

  • Understand the importance of intentional communication, working closely with the leadership team to define solutions to high-level engineering objectives while providing clear and concise updates.  

 What You’ll Bring:  

  • 10+ years of industry experience in full-stack development.  

  • Strong system design fundamentals and experience building scalable systems.  

  • Knowledge and use of common data structures and algorithms to solve problems.  

  • Proficiency in a range of programming languages and frameworks, particularly in Java, Kotlin, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python, or Go, and a willingness to learn new languages as needed  

  • Experience working with automated testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, Playwright)  

  • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment with multiple releases a day  

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills  

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects  

  • Excel in cross-functional collaboration, communication and relationship building  

  • Your code is comprehensible, well-structured, highly performant, and resilient  

  • Exposure to AWS and DevOps is a big plus
