Working as a Senior Automation OT/ICS Security Consultant

In this role, you’ll leverage your extensive experience in industrial automation to safeguard the very systems you know inside and out. You will be working on national and international assignments, so travel can be part of the role. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Consultancy: Act as a trusted security advisor, guiding our clients on how to protect their OT/ICS environments. Your knowledge of automation systems will be crucial in identifying potential security vulnerabilities and developing effective mitigation strategies.
• Security Assessments: Lead in-depth risk and vulnerability assessments across a variety of industrial environment and systems, including SCADA, PLCs, and DCS. You’ll apply your understanding of automation processes to ensure that security measures enhance, rather than hinder, operational efficiency.
• Strategy Development: Develop tailored security strategies that align with both regulatory requirements and the operational goals of our clients. You’ll ensure that these strategies integrate seamlessly with existing OT environments.
• Project Leadership: Take charge of projects, leading cross-functional teams to implement security solutions that protect OT environments. Your leadership will be essential in ensuring that projects are delivered with both technical excellence and an understanding of operational realities.
• Innovation: Stay at the cutting edge of OT/ICS security by exploring new technologies and methodologies. You’ll have the opportunity to innovate and contribute to the development of advanced security solutions that address the unique challenges of industrial environments.

We’re looking for an experienced automation engineer who is ready to expand their expertise into the realm of cybersecurity. 

You should have:

• Automation Expertise: Extensive experience in industrial automation, including hands-on knowledge of SCADA systems, DCS, and PLC, and you are familiar with the Purdue Model. You understand how these systems work and how they can be protected.
• Security Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards such as IEC 62443, NIST 800-82, or NERC CIP is preferred, but if you’re eager to learn, we’ll provide the training to get you up to speed.
• Problem-Solving Skills: You’re a natural problem solver who can think critically about how to protect complex systems without disrupting operations. Your ability to balance security needs with operational demands is key.
• Communication Skills: Excellent ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences. You can translate complex security concepts into actionable insights for clients and colleagues.
• Leadership Ability: Experience leading teams and managing projects in an industrial setting. You know how to motivate and guide others to achieve shared goals.
