Job Description: Seeking an energetic and motivated Systems Administrator with a strong IT background to implement and manage an enterprise tool from cloud-based servers to end-users and is currently developing an updated version of this tool. The Systems Administrator is expected to facilitate the implementation of the tool under development to the C2E.
Our unique team of technical and business disciplines provide operational support for Systems Administration/Integration, Mission Planning, and Business Operations to multiple functional mission areas. The team is responsible for technical design, operations, and mission planning and business operations for the full life cycle of customer specific operations (from concept through development and installation/O&M).
Responsibilities:
- Provide O&M of existing network systems.
- Review and provide technical designs and system testing plans.
- Provide technical feedback on contractor's designs.
- Track major milestones and reviews.
- Advising on the CONOP and use cases for customer network equipment and end-users.
- Assist in security accreditation process.
- Assist in new SIx branch efforts.
- Assist in the review and assessment of contractor deliverables.
- Integrate and configure COTS systems to fit into legacy and upgraded enterprise systems.
- Run system vulnerability scans using COTS scan tools.
- Design and maintain systems: operating systems, patch, configure, and interface with other mission-partner organizations.
- Closely collaborate with ISSM staff, sys admins, and cyber security personnel to design systems that can receive accreditation.
- Provide recommendations and system enhancements.
- Develop/review test strategies for the evaluation of systems.
- Assist in the review and assessment of contractor deliverables.
- Design, build, and test communication architectures that are to be installed at base-end systems.
- Able to build systems: install operating systems, patch, configure, and interface with other organizations.
- Closely collaborate with ISSM staff, System Administrators, and cyber security personnel to design communications that can receive accreditation and are highly secure.
Qualifications:
- Active/Current TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Bachelors' degree in an engineering, science, or other related technical discipline and 10-12 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree and eight 8-10 years of relevant experience; or PhD and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in the design, development, and testing of communication architectures that are deployed.
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Extensive Cloud (C2E) development experience.
- Understanding of TCP/IP network protocols.
- Proven experience in network engineering.
- Ability to build systems: install operating systems, patch, configure, and interface with other organizations.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to design and understand systems such as, operating systems, patch, configure, and interface with other mission-partner organizations.
- Experience configuring network infrastructure, Linux servers, and Windows servers.
- Experience managing firewall and router access control lists.
- Cloud development experience.
- Strong understanding of VMWare virtualization builds.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to do domestic TDY’s to contractor sites. No OCONUS travel is expected but is available in some cases.
Desired Skills:
- Masters' degree or higher in an engineering, science, or other related technical discipline.
- Previous experience with the IC.
