The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services (ES) team:

 

Position Overview:

 

As Associate Director of Network Architecture, you will be a member of the RTX Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) Architecture team. You will be a cross-functional leader, mentor and technical expert assigned to support the RTX Process & Systems Transformation (PST) Infrastructure team, who are focused on enabling the evolution of the RTX enterprise.   PST is an enterprise-wide program that will enable the consolidation and standardization of business processes and the supportive ERP ecosystems that support them.  

 

Your role will enable the transformation of our global LAN/WAN/Cloud networking architectures and supportive systems to meet PST program needs, adopting current standards and defining new solutions as required.  Partnering with internal service delivery teams and external suppliers, you enable our team to successfully deliver a scalable, secure, resilient, efficient, and high performing infrastructure. 

 

An expert in network technologies, you will work to develop infrastructure architectural solutions and standards that meet PST program and business needs, supporting the program architecture strategy and execution. You will mentor teammates and fellow architects to ensure success from strategy and architecture through implementation and sustainment.

 

 

What You Will Do

 

  • Architecture and Design: Develop solution architectures and associated artifacts to enable ERP transformation and ensuring a positive user experience by creating blueprints, standards, and roadmaps in partnership with service partners and fellow architects, including Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, Cloud Networking, and other perimeter facing and internal boundary technologies. Develop secure network architectures while ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.  Identify shortcomings in existing designs and opportunities for improvement to stay ahead of PST activities.
  • Automation:  Identify and architect network automation solutions to reduce labor and provide proactive approaches where there are gaps.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with EIS, Cyber and PST Digital peers, business Digital teams, and supportive functions to ensure network designs are effectively and inclusively created, documented, implemented, and sustained.  Identify any architectural drift and assist with remediation.
  • Service Management: Assist operational peers in the development of an effective approach to Network IT Service Management, including Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practice aligned process/framework adoption.  Design solutions enabling automation and support tooling integration, including multi-cloud monitoring and management solutions.

 

 

Qualifications You Must Have

 

  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience
  • Minimum 10 years previous experience with architecting, designing, deploying, sourcing, provisioning, and supporting contemporary network technologies across a global enterprise landscape (with strong critical system, security, and EXIM/ITAR focus) including:  local area, metro area, wide area, data center and cloud networking services, SDN technologies and services, telecommunications services, VPNs, network encryption, network hardware platforms, routing protocols, network cabling and wiring solutions, equipment installation standards, and  monitoring and capacity management platforms. Experience supporting SAP S4/HANA and ERP network transformation strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years experience working in a multi-site Enterprise environment including facilitating cross organizational solutions in response to diverse objectives
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Software Defined Networking (SDN) and cloud networking background in either Azure or AWS.
  • US Citizen or US Person required
  • Ability to support 25% travel if required

  • Proven experience of creating measurable outcomes and producing products/services with measurable business value
  • Ability to influence internal and external parties to jointly create and accept concepts, practices, designs, and approaches
  • CCIE
  • CISSP
  • Certified Azure or AWS Architect
  • Experience with NIST 800-171 and CMMC
  • Experience driving technology innovation in complex enterprise companies
  • Transformative Thinking / Innovator
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) V4 Foundations or higher certification
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to develop innovative technical solutions, operate in a multidisciplinary environment, and think holistically across complex systems
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills including presentation and negotiation skills, preparing management level briefings and summary explanations

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
