Senior Security Engineer - Security Automation, Detection and Response

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. 

In your new role, you will lead both technical and business-facing teams during security incidents, ensuring comprehensive technical responses and clear communication of risk levels to senior management.

You will be providing leadership for Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Security Operations Centre (SOC) functions to detect and respond to information security incidents, proactive threat hunting, and use case development

Additionally, you will be accountable for the architecture, design, implementation and operation of Transgrid’s security automation, detection and response capabilities and service.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in security operations. incident response and investigation, along with strong business acumen and skills at a Senior Security Consultant level.

• Tertiary qualifications at degree level in a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience
• Industry certifications (e.g. CISSP, OSCP, SANS, GIAC)
• Able to work outside of regular business hours, including participating in an on-call roster
• Good understanding of the role and requirements of planning and regulatory agencies
• Proven problem, incident and resolution skills, including leading resolution
• Experience and ability to contribute to the marketing, business development and strategic decision making of the department
• Competent in the application of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements relative to the duties of the position
