Our NORAD Operations Group

 

Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).

 

Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided:

·       Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.

·       Mitigation of orbital conflicts.

·       Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.

·       Operations and maintenance of classified communications.

·       Software development and integration.

 

NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:

·       Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado

·       Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado

·       Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska

·       Vandenberg Space Force Base, California

·       Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world

 

Description of Duties:

The ACAS Administrator supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). The candidate will:

 

·       Knowledge in cybersecurity standards including NERC, CIP, and FISMA and ensure that cybersecurity infrastructure meets these established standards and oversees the initiative to ensure that the infrastructure remains in compliance as well as correcting any issues which may lead to non-compliance.

·       Directly involved with policy decisions that affect cybersecurity framework and must clearly communicate specific cybersecurity concerns and provide solutions to incorporate effective measures against possible compromise as part of the organization's cybersecurity strategic plan.

·       Responsible for the overall maintenance of information technology security systems and protocols.

·       Design and implement security measures for hardware, software, and network platforms to ensure protection from cyber-attacks and any other possible harmful intrusions that could compromise or damage data and network infrastructure.

·       Prepare and present reports to senior management as well as others involved in information technology infrastructure.

·       Work as effective communicators with respect to training and information dissemination concerning all aspects of security measures.

·       Assess existing cybersecurity systems and protocols and design and implement upgrades to existing measures as well as implementing new procedures.

·       Constantly conduct risk-assessments of existing network hardware and information delivery systems to prevent and mitigate risk.

 

The successful candidate will:

 

·       Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial to conduct continuous assessments of network security measures and identify possible risks and provide risk prevention and mitigation.

·       This position will be filled and work onsite in Colorado Springs, CO

Here's What You'll Need:

 

Basic Requirements:

 

·       Clearance Requirement: Secret

·       Experience setting up, performing, and analyzing vulnerability scans with Tenable

·       Experience with information technology systems security software, hardware, cloud, and server-client suites

·       IAT Level II Certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP) or a more advanced cert within the IAT level III category

·       Current NISSC II experience

 

Desired Requirements:

 

·       Experience in supporting sustainment of NISSC mission systems/subsystems.

 

 

This position is expected to pay $80,000 - $85,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

The position for which you are applying requires a US Department of Defense security clearance. Communication

Equipment and Machines

·       General office equipment, which includes telephone, fax machine, copier, PC/laptop, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

 

Travel

·       Commuting between locations may be required daily (~30-minute drive).

·       May require operating motor vehicles for commuting between locations.

·       Candidate must exhibit professional behavior that promotes teamwork, fosters cooperation, and enhances productivity in the workplace.

·       Must be well organized with the ability to coordinate, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.

·       Grooming and dress are usually business casual but dependent on the client’s standards. Must not pose a safety hazard to employees working in the same general area.
