Network Engineer Sr. Job description – L2/L3 

We are seeking a motivated and self-driven network engineer interested in joining our global network infrastructure support team responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining a highly redundant and scalable network. You will be part of a dynamic network engineering team that is responsible for designing and supporting all global network services which includes LAN, WAN, Data Center, remote access, wireless, and firewall security. You will have an opportunity to learn and contribute to many new design initiatives and deployment projects as we continue to explore new and innovative design solutions or processes to optimize network efficiency, performance, and security. What You'll Be Doing 

 

• Design, implement, troubleshoot and drive complex issues to closure  

• Conduct network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement, develop solutions, and implement enhancements. 

• Take lead in operational support for our LAN, WAN, Data center and wireless networks 

• Maintain global infrastructure including LAN, WAN, Data Center, Wireless, and remote access 

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, serving as an escalation point for critical incidents and problems. 

• Publish design, configuration and operational process standards    

• Lead network infrastructure projects, ensuring their successful completion within scope, budget, and timeline. 

• Manage vendor relationships, partners and service providers  

• Take a lead role in the engagement and mitigation of outage-causing events or issues. 

• Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior network engineers, assisting with their professional growth and development. 

• Perform deep packet analysis to troubleshoot application problems. 

• Monitor network stability and performance - ensuring 24x7 operations and resolving service impacts as they occur. 

• Participation in 24x7 on-call rotation.  

• Identify and evaluate new technologies, solutions, and processes to improve scaling, efficiency, security, and performance 

• Utilize automation tools and scripts to standardize deployment configurations and environments 

• Monitor and analyze networks for potential security threats and vulnerabilities (IDS/IPS) 

• Design and maintain network security infrastructure including SASE, firewalls, VPNs, and other security software or devices 

• Design, maintain, and advance Zero Trust Architecture adoption 

• Optimize and improve network security design standards and defense controls for global networks, data centers, and cloud  

• Experience working with Cloud providers as it relates to security and networking Amazon Web Services, Azure and Google Cloud.  

• Data analytics to aid in forecasting and trending  

• Lead strategic network DevOps initiatives to improve processes, workflows and team visibility 

 

Key qualifications: 

• BA or BS in a technical discipline required.  MA/MS preferred 

• Certifications such as PCNSE, ZIA/ZPA, CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, CISSP, CCDE, CEH, AWS Solution Architect, Azure Fundamentals 

• 8+ years of related experience in the areas of network engineering and network security  

• Expert Knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols and fundamentals, SD-WAN, Network Security, Wireless, Zero Trust Architecture, Firewalls, VPN, WAF 

• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.  

• Proficient in network configuration management and automation tools (Python, Ansible, OpenStack) 

• Strong knowledge with public cloud networking and security components, such as AWS, GCP, Azure
