Position Summary:

We are a world class Information Security team. We specialize in researching vulnerability and threats in the cloud native and containers technology. Our goal is to create more awareness around security issues in the cloud and cloud native computing. With proven track record over the years in finding threats, finding new vulnerabilities and active threats in these technologies, we are excited that we are expanding the team.

The Cloud and Cloud Native Threat Researcher will play a pivotal role in Trend's Cloud and Cloud Native security research team. The successful candidate will be responsible for discovering and finding emerging threats and vulnerabilities within the cloud and cloud native ecosystems. By leveraging their expertise in cloud native technologies and security best practices, the researcher will contribute to the development of innovative security solutions and thought leadership within the industry.

Responsibilities:

• Threat Research: Conduct in-depth research on cloud and container security, including emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors.

• Misconfiguration Analysis: Assess the security posture of cloud environments by finding and analyzing misconfigurations that could lead to security breaches.

• Threat Intelligence: Collect, analyze, and disseminate threat intelligence to inform security teams and stakeholders about emerging risks.

• Thought Leadership: Develop and publish research papers, blog posts, and presentations to establish Trend Micro as a thought leader in cloud and cloud native security.

• Collaboration: Collaborate with other security teams to discover and mitigate security risks.

• Tool Development: Contribute to the development of security tools and frameworks to automate vulnerability scanning and threat detection.

Qualifications:

• Strong Linux Fundamentals: In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line interfaces.

• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Expertise in container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)

• Experience with security tools and frameworks

• Knowledge of network security protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS)

• Reverse Engineering Skills: Ability to disassemble, decompile, and analyze software and hardware systems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and writing skills

• Passion for security research and innovation
