Security Operations Lead (AU Global Education, Hybrid)

Schedule: Monday- Friday (09:00AM to 06:00PM AEST)

What are we looking for? 

Skills Required: 

• Tertiary Qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or any related field 
• At least 6 years of professional experience in Security Architecture.
• In depth experience and understanding of security best practices and frameworks, various security tools and technologies.  
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills 'The ability to think like a hacker ("offensive security") to anticipate threats '
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

Nice to Have: 

• Industry experiences working within AU Company 
• Certifications relevant to cloud security, such as AWS, Certified Security - Specialty (SCS) or Microsoft Azure, Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500) 
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation to automate secure cloud infrastructure deployments. 

What will you do? 

Our client is on a journey to uplift its cyber security posture, and to help support we are looking for an experienced Security Operations Manager to lead our Global Security Operations Centre. 

• Lead of team of geographically dispersed Security Operations Analyst. 
• Train and mentor junior analysts in frameworks, toolset and methodologies utilized in detection and response. 
• Lead incident response and initial triage for security incidents. 
• Build, implement and manage effective cyber security risk detection processes and tools, including delivery of periodic reporting and completion of cyber security audits / tests 
• Lead technical response to cyber security incidents and threat 
• Develop content for cyber defense tools through developing requirements for the SIEM and determine tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for intrusion sets. 
• Build and lead a team of analysts and prioritize work to provide timely detection, identification, and alerting of possible attacks/intrusions 
• Build and sustain external threat intelligence partnerships 
• Document and escalate incidents that may cause ongoing and immediate impact to the environment 
• Lead and direct event correlation using information gathered from a variety of sources within the enterprise to gain situational awareness and determine the effectiveness of an observed attack. 
• Work with the Head of Cyber Defense and broader Cyber Leadership team to identify opportunities to improve company’s security reliance. 
• Deliver technical capability in line with Company’s Cyber Uplift Program.
