What a Information Security Officer/ Data Protection Officer means to us

A ISO/DPO focuses on developing and leading the information security program. This involves protection of the organisation's data assets and the data capture, flow and storage for archival/ retrieval and reporting in order to enable and advance business outcomes. In doing so, they ensure the capture, use and storage is compliant with relevant regulatory requirements. The role is primarily a Tech led role with an eye on risk and compliance.

How you can help us

Data Governance

• Develop and apply data management standards to ensure data quality and completeness within the organisation;
• Advise on all data related issues including regulatory and risk best practice to shape internal Data Policy;
• Establishing corporate practices that comply with data protection and privacy regulations and ensuring PDPA Compliance and other regulatory standards where required;
• Designing, developing and maintaining data warehouses and other repositories in line with industry best practice;
• Promoting data democratisation, data literacy and a Data Ops culture companywide.

Data Operational Support

• Efficient Handling of Data Inquiries and the prioritisation of data quality initiatives that ensure accurate business outcomes;
• Overseeing the management and flow of data throughout its lifecycle;
• Developing and implementing secure processes and systems used for data identification and use in monitoring operational and governance control metrics and establishing mechanisms that ensure the trustworthiness of data;
• Organising, storing and analysing strategic, operational and production data;
• Implementing data analytics and operational data consumption effectively into business processes.

Data Security

• Alert Management on Personal Data Risks;
• Controlling systems and data access management and monitoring of all staff and contractors;
• Improving user access to data while ensuring data protection and privacy;
• Supporting the development and marketing of new products and services.

Training

• Delivering training to create awareness of data protection policies and business’ data protection obligations.

Complaint Handling

• Handling queries and complaints regarding your business’ protection of personal data;

Liaison

• Liaising with the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC), which administers and enforces the PDPA, where necessary.

Registration with ACRA as a DPO

• Register with PDPC and ACRA as the DPO
