AppZen AI...We are seeking an experienced DevOps Manager to lead and enhance our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability of mission-critical applications. In this role, you will design and implement robust DevOps solutions, fostering a continuously delivered microservices environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive best practices and innovation, ensuring rapid deployment and immediate response to issues. The ideal candidate has 5-7+ years of experience in a Cloud/SaaS company, a passion for cutting-edge technology and a commitment to building resilient, scalable systems that support our success.
This position is required to commute into our San Jose, CA office three days a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
You Will:
- Manage a team of talented DevOps engineers.
- Lead the design and implementation of elastically scalable infrastructure solutions.
- Define, enforce, and continuously improve stringent security standards across all systems.
- Design systems for business continuity, ensuring resilience and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Implement and maintain robust monitoring, metrics, and alert systems to ensure high availability.
- Evaluate, recommend, and adopt the most appropriate and up-to-date technologies for the organization.
- Ensure seamless integration of DevOps practices within an Agile/Scrum environment while responding to urgent operational needs.
- Maintain and promote high standards of work quality across the team, driving best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth by encouraging exploration of new tools, technologies, and processes.
Must-Have:
- Proven management experience in leading DevOps teams.
- Expert knowledge of microservices architecture and design.
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes (AWS EKS preferred) and AWS ECS.
- Expert-level experience with AWS cloud services.
- Hands-on experience with ISO 27001 / SOC2 compliance and audit initiatives.
- Proficient in Linux systems and internals.
- Experience in high-availability environments with a focus on scalability and resilience.
- 8+ years of experience in setting up and maintaining cloud environments.
- Strong experience with both SQL and NoSQL database management.
- Proficient in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Experience with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Shell and Python.
- Hands-on experience with cost optimization, security, and automation in cloud environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, distributed team environment.
- US Citizen only for this role.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with workflow/orchestration engines.
- Familiarity with distributed systems architecture.
- Prior experience in a startup environment.
- Experience building and supporting highly available (99.999% uptime) systems.
- Knowledge of streaming infrastructure technologies.
- Experience designing and maintaining auto-scalable microservices.
- Proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
- Familiarity with JIRA or similar project management tools is a plus.
- Experience with OWASP security practices or CISSP certification.
- Hands-on experience with ECS/Fargate.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required; a master's degree is a plus.
