As a highly organized and motivated Brand Protection Sr. Analyst at YETI, you will provide support, structure, and manage projects reporting to the Director of YETI’s Global Brand Protection Team.  The unique position at YETI requires a dedicated self-starter with a track record of taking the initiative, going the extra mile, succeeding in a fast-paced work environment, and delivering concise brand protection reports for authorization and execution. This role will support YETI’s global brand protection strategy, focusing on identifying, removing, and seizing counterfeit and unauthorized products across all international markets. This work will be done in partnership with domestic and global vendors and will provide coordination and project management to brand protection efforts and focus on online platforms, suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and resellers.  

This position is based in Austin, TX at our headquarters office. If you are not local to Austin, you must be willing to relocate.

  

Responsibilities:  

IP Enforcement 

  • Support, track, drive, expand, and improve proactive and reactive enforcement monitoring and execution internationally.  

  • Draft takedown notices, cease and desist letters, and other demand letters.  

  • Conduct compliance monitoring for each enforcement.  

  • Maintain up-to-date customs recordation filings and issuance of customs authorization stakeholders.  

  • Draft and proof documentation such as letters of authorization, declarations, affidavits, and authentication documents for criminal prosecution and civil litigation.  

Unauthorized Resellers 

  • Proactively investigate resellers for potential diversion, theft, fraud, or policy violations. Monitor, draft enforcement communication, and track compliance of authorized partner advertised price adherence.  

  • Research and provide updates on corresponding laws, regulations, and enforceable rights developments by region and country.   

Investigation 

  • Conduct all-source global investigations leveraging OSINT and SOCINT.  

  • Prioritize, monitor, secure evidence, authenticate, track, draft, and present proposed plan of action options for brand protection enforcement related to proactive and reactive cases in the market, digital space, and customs and law enforcement agencies.  

Intelligence Collection & Analysis  

  • Identify high-value targets for coordinated civil and criminal actions.  

  • Analyze, interpret, and prepare evidence-based reports that present pertinent facts coherently.  

  • Compute and analyze global brand protection data to identify principal infringers, trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.   

Coordination & Project Management  

  • Input, manage, and maintain up-to-date case management system, project management tracker, and evidence preservation.  

  • Regularly update and create brand protection reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, authentication training manuals, and metrics dashboards for global and country-specific needs.  

  • Draft brand protection correspondence, manage incoming leads, and provide training and support as needed.  

 Vendor & Resource Support  

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with key partners and business units across the company, industry, and intelligence-sharing organizations.  

  • Support cross-functional teams on international matters and initiatives.  

  • Handle vendor onboarding, invoice processing, and record management.  

  • Manage and support assigned vendor projects and maximize brand protection resource allocations.  

Technology & Industry Research  

  • Maintain an elevated level of expertise regarding IP crime, investigative techniques, industry developments, internet trends, and emerging technologies.  

  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvement and innovative programs, procedures, methods, and systems.  

  • Use technology and seek resources to improve tradecraft and enhance skills.  

 

 

Qualifications and Attributes: 

 

  • At least 4+ years of experience in-house and in the field or similar with a significant analytic and evidence-based reporting component  

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of studies 

  • Experience working within a highly regulated space with confidential information. 

  • Experience using case management systems and other third-party services, particularly LexisNexis, Kaseware, OpenText, and Salesforce. 

  • Familiarity with intellectual property concepts. 

  • Demonstrated familiarity with consumer product cycle, supply chain operations, and logistics standard operating procedures. 

  • Driven tenacity to manage and continually improve ongoing projects. 

  • Able to develop and refine an analytic process and approach. 

  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with various dispositions and adaptability across internal and external parties. 

  • Professional aptitude if/when adverse scenarios arise, such as disputes, conflicts, or confrontations. 

  • Familiarity with the current cyber threat landscape and basic internet structure concepts. 

  • Ability and willingness to quickly learn new skills and assimilate new information in support of evolving job and team support requirements or initiatives 

  • This position is located in Austin, TX at our headquarters location of Southwest Parkway. Must be willing to relocate if not local and work a hybrid schedule.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

  • Foreign language fluency, Chinese and/or Spanish preferred.  

  • Experience conducting open-source intelligence (OSINT) and social media research and investigations. 

  • Job-related certifications aligned with primary responsibilities.
