Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Cyber Security Operations. The Manager will oversee the day-to-day cyber operations across the entire organization. This will include oversight and management of the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC), including monitoring, detection, analysis, and response to security incidents. Additionally, they will manage all cybersecurity tools and platforms utilized by the organization, ensuring the protection of information assets and maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of systems and data. This role does not include responsibilities related to Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC).
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Develop and implement strategic procedures, processes, and workflows to ensure efficient and effective cybersecurity operations that are fully integrated with the organization's overall security strategy.
- Manage and lead cybersecurity teams, overseeing their use of various toolsets to ensure optimal performance and alignment with organizational security objectives.
- Establish and refine performance metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of both teams and the tools they manage, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Cybersecurity Infrastructure and Toolset Management:
- Oversee the acquisition, implementation, and support of cybersecurity tools and technologies, ensuring they meet the organization's security needs and objectives.
- Drive the strategic use and optimization of cybersecurity toolsets, ensuring they are effectively leveraged by team members for maximum impact.
- Evaluate and select new tools and technologies in alignment with evolving security threats and industry trends, ensuring continuous improvement in the organization's cybersecurity posture.
- Ensure proper training and support for team members on these toolsets, fostering a high level of expertise and operational efficiency within the cybersecurity teams.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to streamline cybersecurity operations across the organization.
- Implement and maintain tools, technologies, and procedures to enhance the overall effectiveness of cybersecurity operations.
- Conduct regular training and exercises to ensure the readiness, skill development, and effectiveness of cybersecurity teams.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation, encouraging teams to stay ahead of emerging threats and best practices.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) across all cybersecurity operations.
- Generate regular reports and metrics to communicate the performance and effectiveness of cybersecurity operations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Participate in audits and assessments to validate compliance with security policies and standards, ensuring the organization meets all regulatory and industry requirements.
- Oversee the implementation of corrective actions and improvements based on audit findings and assessments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Masters Degree preferred.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC, CISA, or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a leadership role within Cybersecurity Operations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams effectively, fostering collaboration and achieving operational goals.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity operations, including the use and management of security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and threat intelligence platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Range for this position based on qualifications and experience$110,000—$115,000 USD
