Lecturer, Cybersecurity and Networks

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering & Computer Science at the University of New Haven invites applications for a non-tenure-track Lecturer position in cybersecurity and networks. The start date is August 2024.

The University of New Haven has been recognized by the NSA as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations (CAE-CO), one of only 20 universities in the United States to receive this prestigious designation. We are looking for an energized faculty member who wants to continue building our national and international reputation in cybersecurity.

Expectations

• The ability to teach hands on courses in offensive cybersecurity, reverse engineering, defensive cybersecurity, digital forensics, network security, cloud security, and malware analysis.
• A strong commitment to and evidence of potential for excellence in applied, hands-on cybersecurity undergraduate and graduate teaching.
• A commitment to teaching excellence, active-learning and student engagement.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to collegiality and teamwork.
• Provide service at the program, profession, departmental, college and university levels on various working groups and committees.

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or closely related fields with emphasis on cybersecurity. Candidates with an M.S. degree with multiple years of experience will also be considered.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to collegiality and teamwork.
• Interest in active learning, experiential learning, and student engagement are desirable.
• Authorization to work in the U.S.

The TCoE offers eight nationally accredited engineering and applied science programs (chemical, civil, electrical and computer, and mechanical engineering, computer science, and chemistry).
