As a member of the Security Operations Center, an analyst is responsible for ensuring the security of information systems by monitoring networks, analyzing security events and responding to potential threats. They must be able to think critically to identify root causes of issues and communicate effectively with our customers. The individual should be able to interpret Maritz IT security policies and formulate decisions that align with Maritz risk appetite while working collaboratively with others to perform routine tasks & alert monitoring.

Primary Responsibilities

30% Utilize various tools to respond, analyze, and resolve cyber security alerts and threat actor intrusions against the network and/or information system(s)

30% Utilize various tools to investigate and determine the effect of observed cyber security incidents on the network and/or information system(s)

20% Produce incident tracking tickets, reports, whitepapers, metrics and various other products to highlight detected cyber security incidents

20% Coordinate actions required to mitigate and eliminate cyber security threats to the network and/or information system(s)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in cyber security or related field of study, or experience in cyber security in lieu of degree

  • Security+, Network+, CEH, or other security focused certifications a plus

  • Experience working with a SIEM, vulnerability management platform, web application firewall, anti-virus or endpoint detection and response tools, security orchestration automation and response platforms, Microsoft Office 365 protection a plus

  • Knowledge of Fundamental Network and Security Concepts, and NIST frameworks

  • Understanding of OSI model, applications, TCP/IP, ports, intrusion detection and prevention, firewalls, incident handling and response, chain of custody

  • Ability to perform accurate, thorough analysis of cyber incidents

  • Provide concise written and/or oral reports, papers, briefings, and other products that thoroughly explains cyber security incidents, their affect to the computing environment, and coordinates possible responses

  • Ability to work within a team environment to identify and analyze cyber security incidents, formulate a response, then coordinate tasks and processes with other teams to implement fixes and mitigations to correct the situations.
